Wollangambie river: Canyon lilo trip
One summer day I went on a lilo trip in the Blue Mountains in Wollangambie
Canyon, starting at Mt Wilson.

If the water levels are right, and the day is warm, go lilo !! This
place is great, walk down one side of the mountain armed with lilos, float in
the mild rapids through the canyon and climb up the other side. Not to
be done in flood, the fallen trees are easy enough to negotiate at low levels,
but at flood they would be a drowning hazard.
Even though it was summer, I suggest wearing a light wetsuit to cut out
the chill from the shade and cold water.
How enjoyable it was to float assisted by the gentle currents through the
canyons. I cannot fully describe the beauty nor tranquility, hopefully the
photos do it justice.
This area, the Garden of Eden ? Might as well be.
Wildlife - no place for the fear of spiders, there are plenty in this
canyon!
